It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Ernest Schafer of New Leipzig, North Dakota, who passed away on August 23, 2020, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine Rieger; and his siblings, Karl, Oscar, Henry, Albert, Edward, Elmer, Rose, Kathryn George, Lillian Imhoff and Clara Schafer.
He is survived by: his stepmother Katherine Schafer (Kuntz); his daughters, Susan Holland (Gene) of Arlington, TX, Brenda Schafer Kosobud (Arnie), Jeanette Dietz (Delmar) and Sheila Cummings (Scott); his grandchildren, Matthew Holland, Jamison Hild (Caitlin), AJ Hild (Mikayla), Delton, Derrick, Destinee Dietz, Gabrielle Wavra (Riley), Meredith and Joseph Cummings; his great grandchildren, Aiden Dietz, William Hoesel, Kayson, Kinley, Karsyn Hild, Quinn, Colton and Lincoln Hild; and his sister-in-law Agnes Schafer of Missoula, MT. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
The service will take place outside to allow for social distancing.
