He was predeceased by: his mother Ardelle Kovar (Johnson); his brothers, Ray and Casey; his siblings-in-law, Linda Kovar and John Tharaldsen; his nieces, Sarah Kovar and Natalie Hankel; and his nephew Jason Kovar.
He is survived by: his father Henry IV; his siblings, Dean of Great Falls, MT, Pat (Deb) of Dickinson, Bonnie Tharaldsen of Bismarck, Joanie Narum (Steve) of Douglas, ND, Karla Renfrow (Jimm) of Anadarko, OK and Arva Steier (Neal) of Dickinson; his close friend Doug Tarpo; his aunts, Marvis Miller and Rosina Kovar; and his uncle Willis Johnson. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
