It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas L. Pekas of Mott, North Dakota, born in Elgin, North Dakota, who passed away on April 22, 2020, at the age of 61, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Lawrence Pekas; his grandchildren, Robert Douglas and Ella Brunson; his grandparents, Louis, Ella Pekas, Reinhold and Ida Stevahn; his nephew Shawn Johnson; and his brothers-in-law, Rob Johnson and Darryl Binstock.
He is survived by: his mother Leona Pekas (Stevahn) of Dickinson, ND; his spouse Jody Coe; his children, Jennifer Brunson (Raymond) of Ozark, AR, Megan VanLishout (Ted Fetch) of Mott, ND, Michael Pekas of Rapid City, SD and Darren Pekas of Rapid City, SD; his grandchildren, Blake, Joe, Whitley, Makenna, Jaycee, Tucker and Vada; his siblings, David Pekas (Karen) of Hettinger, ND, Julie Fischer (Ron) of Carson, ND, Janelle Binstock of Dickinson, ND and Joleen Kilzer (Donald) of Bentley, ND; and the mother of his children Jody Pekas (Coe) of Rapid City, SD. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
Due to the current events with the COVID-19 virus, a celebration of Doug's life will be held at a later date.
