He is survived by: his wife Susan of Minto, ND; his daughters, Vanessa Mattson (Jon) of Grand Forks, ND and Carissa Gully (Mike) of Mantador, ND; his grandchildren, Aubree and Odin Mattson; and his siblings, Vince Thiel, Brad Thiel (Ann) of Elk River, MN, Miles Thiel (Ruth) of Glenwood, MN, Missy Christopherson (Ervan) of Becker, MN and Gwen Thiel.
