Walter Behrens Obituary
We are sad to announce that on August 14, 2023, at the age of 96, Walter Behrens (Minot, North Dakota) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Behrens and Anna Behrens (Hoppman); and his brother Harry Behrens (Helen). He is survived by: his wife Helen Frances Shong; his sister Dorothy Offermann of Minot, ND; and his children, Peggy Austin, Barbara Van Grinsven (John) of Minot, ND, Jeffrey Behrens (Connie) of Minot, ND, Jennifer Behrens of Sweet Home, OR, Bernadine Geiger (Wes) of Garrison, ND and Pamela Mariner (Illand) of Minot, ND. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, along with several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorials be designated for the Dakota Territorial Aviation Museum in Minot where his Piper Cub is on display.
