He was predeceased by: his mother Peggy McIlroy (O'Connell); and his brothers, Dennis McIlroy (Joyce McGlenn), Scott McGlenn (Jean Paulson), Dean McIlroy, Mike Dupay, Duane Zwinger, Paul O'Connell and Anadine O'Connell.

He is survived by: his father Carl McIlroy; his sister Nancy Johnson (Kirk); his nephews, Micah and Joshua; and his aunts and uncles, Joyce Dupay, Mary Ann Zwinger, Larry O'Connell (Debbie), David O'Connell (Ann), Gary O'Connell (Jan) and Dean McIlroy (Linda).
