He was predeceased by: his parents, Terrence J. Ahern and Martha M. Ahern (Tegmeier). He is survived by: his wife Betty; his stepson Richard; and his daughter Brenda. He is also survived by three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Terry honor to the Our Lady of Grace Food Pantry, Minot.
