He was predeceased by: his parents, Roy McFarlen and Olive McFarlen (Johnson); and his siblings, Keith McFarlen, Carolyn Mahoney, Karen McDonah and Kathy Schoenberg.
He is survived by: his brother Gary. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
