He was predeceased by: his parents, Vincent Schwan and Barbara Schwan (Schell); his siblings, Bernadette Wright (Bob) and Richard Schwan; and his sister-in-law Rita Schwan.
He is survived by: his wife Carol Effertz; his children, Dale Schwan (Lorilyn), Patrick Schwan (Colleen) and Karen Schwan Holman (Mike); his grandchildren, Nicholas, Mallory, Briana, Tyler and Brady Schwan (Brenna); his siblings, Jerry Schwan, Joanne Feist (Joe), Sandy Nordstrom (Kim) and Dennis Schwan; and his sister-in-law Judy Schwan. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, and other extended family.
