He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Schmaltz and Rosella Schmaltz (Eisenzimmer); and his siblings, Barbara Gisi and Joseph. He is survived by: his children, Duane Schmaltz (Betty) of Knoxville, JoAnne Lemer (Raymond) of Minot, Bob Schmaltz (Christine) of Grand Forks and Leon Schmaltz (Renee) of Harvey. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
