He was predeceased by: his parents, Adolph Lovelien and Sylvia "Katherine" Lovelien (Springmeyer); his wife Marjorie; his siblings, Donald, Marvin, Arlo, Leslie and Alma; his stepson Richard Fox, Jr.; his stepson-in-law Melvin Oja; his mother-in-law Marie Lill; and his siblings-in-law, James Lill, James Bauley, Ervin Fiedler and Theresa Przybycien.
He is survived by: his stepdaughters, Darlene Oja of Minot and Charlene Fox of Minot; his grandchildren, Jessica Krout (Michael), Hope Trana (Jeremiah) of Granville, ND, Erica McFarland of Towner, ND and Cristin Fox of Bossier City, LA; his great grandchildren, Annabelle Collins, Samantha, Adeline Trana, Christopher and Kinsley McFarland; his sister Delores Fiedler of Muscle Shoals, AL; and his siblings-in-law, Marsha Bauley of Valley City, ND, Stan Przybycien of Williston, ND and Robert Lill (Marilyn) of Cathay, ND.
