He was predeceased by: his parents, Alfred Syrtveit and Gunda Syrtveit (Watne); his brother Oren Syrtveit; and his stepson Butch Hoff. He is survived by: his daughters, Karla Henson (Dale) and Carmen Andres (Francis) of San Diego, CA; his stepchildren, Kari Martin (Jack) and Jim Hoff (Teresa); his sister Lois Tryan of Scobey, MT; his sister-in-law Loretta Syrtveit of Oklee, MN; and his grandchildren, Hunter Bakke (Kaitlyn Bruns), Jennifer Hanson of San Diego, CA and Nichole Anaya (Bruce) of San Diego, CA..
He also donated many hours to the Surrey Senior Center.
