He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Nygaard and Margaret Nygaard (Welch); his brother Melvin Nygaard; his father-in-law Marlo Ofsthun; his brother-in-law Jerry Goetz; and his nephew Troy Goetz.
He is survived by: his wife Cindy Ofsthun August; his children, Brent, Naomi of Minot, ND and Vreelyn of Minot, ND; his siblings, Connie Keller (Terry) of Libby, MT, Dennis Nygaard (Patricia) and Blanchard Nygaard (Jane); his mother-in-law Lucille Ofsthun of Minot, ND; and his siblings-in-law, Craig Ofsthun of Minot, ND and Peggy Ann Gantner Nygaard of Bemidji, MN. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials are preferred to Trinity Hospital Cancer Care Center or a charity of your choice.
