He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Smith and Carrie Smith (Erickson); his son Jeffrey; and his siblings, Henry, Ernie, Rueben, Floyd, Selma, Elsie, Vivian and Myrt.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Arne; his sons, Brent Smith (Tricia) of Detroit Lakes, MN and Chad Smith of Fergus Falls, MN; and his grandchildren, Caden, Cole, Kyle, Kallie, Trey, Jerzie and Drake. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
