He was predeceased by: his parents, Nickodemus Schaeffer and Martina Schaeffer (Obrigewitch); his wife Ruth; his children, Mary Ann Schaeffer and Kurt Joseph Eitvet Schaeffer; his parents-in-law, Tony and Rosie Schneider; his brother Christopher Schaeffer; and his brother-in-law Felix Brin.
He is survived by: his son Kevin (Olga M.) of Spring Brook, PA; his grandson Lukas Schaeffer; his great grandchild Lillian Schaeffer; his daughter Lee Gruss (Dan) of Shawnee, KS; his granddaughters, Elizabeth Gruss and Eileen Smith (Ryan); his sons, Clint of Clackamas, OR and Eric (Stacy) of Minot; his grandchildren, Griffin Schaeffer, Grant Schaeffer, Grayson Schaeffer and Greer Schaeffer; his daughter-in-law Marianne Eitvet Schaeffer of Dal, Norway; his grandchildren, Ulrik Eitvet Schaeffer and Amalie Eitvet Schaeffer; his siblings, Margaret Heil (Robert), Leila Brin, Angela Messmer (David), Cecilia Golberg (Olaf), Ebba Tescher (Donald), Mary Jane Hanify, Raymond Schaeffer and Albert Schaeffer (Jennifer); and his brother-in-law Harold Schneider of Kansas City, KS. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
