He was predeceased by: his parents, Floyd Velo and Theresa Velo (Braun); his grandparents, Alfred, Anna Velo, Alois and Anna Braun; his siblings, Michael Velo, Catherine Velo and Mary Ratzlaff; and his aunt Miriam Braun.
He is survived by: his siblings, Donald Velo (Teri), Emporia, John Velo (Judy) of Eagan, MN, Robert Velo of Powers Lake, ND, Daniel Velo of Williston, ND, Floyd Velo (Peggy) of Powers Lake, ND, Wilfred "Willie" Velo of Powers Lake, ND, Barbara Pope (Thayne) of Williston, ND and Dorothy Johnson (Troy) of Williston, ND; and his brother-in-law James Ratzlaff of Wahpeton, ND.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Thompson - Larson Funeral Home (21 3rd Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A vigil service was held on Wednesday, November 20th 2024 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church (707 16th Ave SW, Minot, ND 58701). A burial will be held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 3:30 PM.
