He was predeceased by: his parents, Sever Quam and Alice Quam (Luchsinger); his siblings, Merlyn Quam and Sylvetta Strube; his son Elwyn Mendell "Pete" Quam, Jr.; and his niece Erin Quam.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Bruhn; his children, Kerry Quam (Kimberly), Kelly Quam (Christy), Newtown and Angela Kraft (Dan); his sister Meridell Collee of Oregon; and his sister-in-law Nancy Quam of Minot. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
