It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Schmitcke of Minot, North Dakota, who passed away on February 17, 2022, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Schmitcke and Mary Schmitcke (Kleinsasser); his wife Marie Schmitcke (Harstad); his son Marty; his grandchildren, Dayton Kolschefski and Christy Schmitcke; and his siblings, Edwin Schmitcke, Viola Fix, Clara Ellingson, Pearl Sartain, Barbara Mickelson and Verna Mae Schmitcke.
He is survived by: his foster children, Darci Arden, Jodi Vollen, Roxane Voeller and Debbie Arnold; his children, Michael Schmitcke (Cindy) and Holly Kolschefski (Darcy); his grandchildren, Nicole Faydo (Jan), Erica Brannin, Kira Wheat (Jonathan) and Kyle Kolschefski; his great grandchildren, Jace Wheat, Lilith Brannin and Ella Wheat; and his sister-in-law Shelly Harstad. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
