She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Klein and Lena Klein (Schmidt); her husband Frank Merck; her siblings, Leo, Eddie, William and Marilyn Mikel; her grandson Benjamin Merck; her great grandchild Paxton Lee; and her brother-in-law Myron Hegre.
She is survived by: her children, Shirley Houmann (Chet) of Westhope, ND, Sharon Cargo (Ritch) of Towner, ND, Jeff Merck (Cheryl) of Minot, ND and Mark Merck (Linda) of Fargo, ND; her grandchildren, Christy Lee (Anthony), Amanda Boschee (Wyatt), Preston Cargo (Jaci), Jacob Merck and Justin Merck; her stepgrandchildren, Trent Houmann (Gina), Tanner Houmann (Tricia), Seth Cargo (Laci) and Heather Lee (Brett); and her sister Catherine Hegre. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren: eight step-great-grandchildren.
