He was predeceased by: his spouse Evelyn Vikan; and his siblings, Adline Marks (Alvin), Bernhard Mettler and Delores Hett (Orel). He is survived by: his children, David Mettler of Minot and Diane Thorne (Clyde) of Minot; his grandchildren, Dustin Thorne (Jennifer), Zachary Thorne (Amber), Jeremy Thorne and Christopher Mettler (Amber); his great grandchildren, Maya, Kayla Thorne, Eslie and Zander Mettler; his brother Lawrence Mettler (Gertie) of Bismarck; and his sister-in-law Sylvia Mettler of Bonita.
