He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bakke and Agnes Bakke (Opperud); his wives, Shirley Ralph and Georgetta Bakke; his son Derk Bakke; and his siblings, Leonard Opperud, John Bakke, Edward Bakke, George Bakke, Elmer Bakke, Edwin Bakke, Alton Bakke, Martha Anderson and Adeline Green.
He is survived by: his sons, Mark Bakke (Sandy), Terry Bakke and Neil Bakke (Amy); his granddaughters, Emma Bakke (Ethan Liebe), Greta Bakke and Mia Bakke; his stepchildren, Tom Bakke (Deb), Steve Bakke (Debbie) and Kristie Krishnan (Padu); and his stepgrandchildren, Laura Bakke, Ryan Bakke (Sarah), Tyler Bakke (Lindsay), Anne O'Malley (Tom), Courtney Krishnan and Matthew Krishnan.
Memorials: are preferred to the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery, Lignite or a charity of donor's choice.
