He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Dietz and Pauline Dietz (Beck); and his siblings, David, George, Robert, Eleanor and Lorene.
He is survived by: his wife Shirley Johnson; his daughters, Kimberly Foster (Mike) of Lake Metigoshe, ND and Karla Gabriel (Gary) of Bismarck, ND; his grandchildren, Meghan Kjelshus (Joe) and Matthew Foster (Whitney); his great grandchildren, Phoebe, Henrik, Clark and Embry; and his brother Ronald Dietz of Moorhead, MN. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Al was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, where he served on the Church Foundation Board.
