He was predeceased by : his former life partner VaLois Darlene Ellefson; his parents, Edward Ellefson and Harriet Ellefson (Robbins); his siblings, Donald, Lester and Edith Wyum; his great grandchild Merek Hogness; his children-in-law, Brenda Ellefson and Alain DuRain; and his parents-in-law, Darwin, Ruth Moxness, Jim Smith, Howard Dahlen, George Wyum and Bev Wiltse.

He is survived by : his wife Kathleen; his children, Wayne Ellefson of Fargo, ND, Cheri Siemieniewski (LeRoy), Lori Yagow (Myron) and Steve Ellefson (Debbe); his stepchildren, Scott Branvold (Lynda) of Pittsburgh, PA, Barry Branvold (Sharon), Dawn DuRain and Kevin Branvold (Sharyl); and his siblings-in-law, Edna Ellefson of Fargo, ND, Diane Smith, Lewiston, Gloria Dahlen, Sherman Moxness (Shirley) of Minneapolis, MN, Larry Moxness (Mary), Warren Wiltse (Betty) and Jim Wiltse. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID-19, a public visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020 from 1:00 to 2:30 p. m. at Dahlstrom Funeral Home in Milnor followed by a private graveside service at 3:00 p. m. at Milnor Lutheran Cemetery.
