He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas R. and Laura Belle Powers-Welch (Ammon); his stepfather Chester Welch; his sister Linda Muringer; and his stepson John Gust.

He is survived by: his wife Jacquelin Powers; his stepchildren, Eric Gust (Heather), Cindy Shimel (Dennis), Michelle Bringer (Jason) and April Andrews (Chad); his grandchildren, Alexandra, William, Claire, Marley, Grace, Isabella, Riley and Adam; his siblings, Thomas Powers (Nellie), David Powers (Rhea) and Johnny Powers (Bonnie); and his significant other Mark Satkowiak. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
