He was predeceased by: his parents, Gust Shirek and Pauline Shirek (Jicha); his stepmother Oney; his brothers, Gust and Kenneth; and his brother-in-law Jerry Anderson.
He is survived by: his wife Jean Bina; his children, Kenneth Shirek of Michigan, ND, Paul Shirek of Michigan, ND, Rebecca Anderson (Dennis) of Lakota, ND and Frances Thompson (David) of Lakota, ND; and his sister Rose Anderson of Devils Lake, ND.. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery or the Michigan Ambulance Service.
