He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal L Funston and Gertrude Funston; his siblings, Jean Schossow, Merle Funston, Shirley Wiedmeier and David Funston; his nephews, Mark Schossow, Daniel Funston and Thomas Wiedmeier; and his great-nephew Chase Hurdle.
He is survived by: his former wife Janet Littke Schadler; his siblings, Neal Lloyd Funston (Patricia), Marie Saunders (Dale) and Clifton D. Funston (Clara); his niece Dawn Schossow Witthaus (Marc); his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nichole Witthaus Scott, Lindsey Witthaus and Michael Witthaus (Lauren Carson); his grandchildren, Ryan, Nicolas, Benjamin, Kathleen Saunders (Glenn Davis), Kim Funston Repnow, Cynthia Funston Zueger (Maynard) and Becky Funston Hurdle (Darius); his great grandchildren, Cory, Tyler, Zachary, Camika, Calaen, Chase and Cierra; his nephew Michael Lee Funston (April Morris); his great-nephew Daniel; his nephew Kevin Funston (Michelle Easly); his great-nephews, Scott Funston (Charlotte Dixon), Timothy Funston (Monique Towne), Richard Funston, Bill Saunders (Patty Johnson), Michael Funston (Cindi Kringstad), Gary Funston and Greg Funston (Becky Bothun); and also, Max, Scott Jr., Mary, Emily, Shannon, Rachael, Andrew, Daniel, William, Hope and Ruthmarie.
