He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Schumacher and Christine Schumacher (Senger); his siblings, Ray, Tony, Doris Thomas and Clara Lacher; and his brothers-in-law, Eugene Lacher and Jerome Houn.
He is survived by: his former wife Helen Grinsteiner; his children, Gregory and Sandra; his former wife Charlotte Oleson; his son Paul; his wife Carol Schroeder of Detroit Lakes; his children, Greg (Allison), Sandy Schumacher of Bismarck and Patty Wetzel of Bismarck; his siblings, Ann Houn, Bill Schumacher (Mary) and Jim Schumacher; and his sisters-in-law, Betty Schumacher of Bismarck and Alice Schumacher of Bismarck. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
