She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest C. Martel and Mary Martel (Hins); her children, Kirk Metzler and Lavonne Metzler; her grandson Preston Metzler; and her siblings, Rosie Bohn (Frank), Harold Martel (Annette), Jacqualine Hoffmann (Rudy) and Delores Mittleider (Johnnie).
She is survived by: her daughter Jocelyn Guthmiller of Medina, ND; her grandsons, Jeremy, Derek (Nicole) and Kirk Guthmiller; her great grandchildren, Kruz, Jordan and Seth Guthmiller; her siblings, Dorothy Mahoney of Bismarck, ND, Richard Martel of Bismarck, ND, Marvin Martel (Donna) of Bismarck, ND and Linda Jose (Dean) of Bismarck, ND; her nieces and nephews, Rory and Kim Hoffmann; her son-in-law Delton Guthmiller; and her siblings-in-law, Thomas Mahoney and Pat Martel. She is also survived by many nieces & nephews.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth requested memorials be sent to the United Church of Christ in Medina.
