It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gideon Schlecht (Medina, North Dakota), who passed away on May 7, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolph Schlecht and Magdalena Schlecht (Gunsch); his wife Viola Simmons; and his siblings, Clarence, Walter, Reuben, Alvin Schlecht and Hilda Limbacher.
He is survived by: his children, Marlowe (Tammy), Marilyn Dikoff (Curtis) and Maureen Smith (Don) of Osnabrock; his sisters, Leona Moser and Alvina Broste of Bismarck; his grandchildren, Rochelle Bosche (Damon), Brandon Schlecht (Jenny), Trisha Fennern (Russell), Jenna Guerrier (Pippen), Jennifer Nordin (Robert), Jeremy Curtis (Tamara), Jessica Young (Charlie), Julia Singer (Steve), Mikaela Hultstrand (Olnick), Megan Smith Devils Lake and Dalen Smith; and his great grandchildren, Makenna, Alaina, Kara Bosche, Reanna, Kennedy Schlecht, Briggs, Porter Fennern, Ronan Guerrier, Geoff, Shawnee, Mark Nordin, Brooke, Jase Curtis, Braeden, Dawson, Adalyn, Reagan Young, Abigail, Cora, Violet Singer, Nieum and Nadia Hultstrand.
