He was predeceased by: his parents, Torris Hanson and Thora Hanson (Kvamme); his siblings, Roger Hanson, Marjorie Hanson and Helen Gehrke; and his brother-in-law Richard Trostad.

He is survived by: his sister Phyllis Trostad of Cooperstown, ND; and his siblings-in-law, Gretchen Hanson and Charles Gehrke. He is also survived by several nieces & nephews; step-grandchildren; and an enormous number of friends.
