He was predeceased by: his mother Louise Thomsen (Barenthsen); his brother Axel Barenthsen; his daughter Kathleen Louise Barenthsen; his father Thorvald Axel Barenthsen; his stepmother Carla Barenthsen (Holst); his sister Lola Odden Haugen (Barenthsen); his siblings-in-law, Ernest Odden, Cliff Jorgenson, Morris Foss, Lloyd Haugen and Mavis Foss (Skarphol); and his niece Louise Leintz (Odden).
He is survived by: his wife Bernice; his children, Cynthia Peterson (Gary), Kathy Busch (Jeff), Mark Barenthsen (Kathy) and Roger Barenthsen (Melissa); his sister Harriette Jorgenson; his siblings-in-law, Harlan Skarphol (Fern) and Arlis Watterud (Marlyn); and also Louise.
