He was predeceased by: his parents, Peder Bakkum and Gelina Bakkum; and his brother Earle Bakkum. He is survived by: his wife Nora; his children, Douglas Bakkum (Kris), Diane Magidson (Bruce), Darla Schmitz (Rodney) and Dean Bakkum (Annette); his grandchildren, Tracy Ketelsen (Ethan), Amy Bakkum, Natalie Schmitz, Daniel Bakkum and Allen Bakkum; his great grandchild Theodore Ketelsen; and his sister Jean Walstad. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
