She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle C. Fleener and Dorothy Fleener (Gordon); her husband Dale Gene Mortensen; her daughter Kristine; her granddaughter Taylor; and her siblings, John Fleener, George Fleener and Mary Anderson.
She is survived by: her children, Ann Sacoman of Amarillo, Loren Mortensen (Shari) of Huron, SD, Shannon Skovlund (Kyle) of Mayville, ND, Kimberly Anderson (Mike) of Rapid City, SD and Matthew Mortensen (Jessi) of Sartell, MN; and her sisters, Faith Quinn and Priscilla Palm. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Carol also enjoyed debating politics with anyone who also enjoyed this topic; and many times, with those who didn't. Another of Carol's hobbies was sewing; she made several quilts throughout her lifetime, many of which she donated.
