We are sad to announce that on August 14, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Virgil Malchert of Mandan, North Dakota, born in Bismarck, North Dakota. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace and Helen (Kurtz); his sister Millicent Boyd (Millie); and his brothers-in-law, Richard Knapp (Dick), Gary Boyd Sr. and Ivan Boyd.
He is survived by: his wife Marlene Weber; his children, Debbie Van Berkom (Steve), Brian Malchert and Gail (Scott); his grandchildren, Gretta Simonson (Jeremy), Jason Van Berkom (Tara), Molly Malchert, Tara Klungtvedt (Matt), Michelle Repko (Jed) and Matthew Smith (Lauren); his great grandchildren, Nathan, Alex, Bridget, Walter, Lydia, Levi, Adelaide Jack, Wyatt, Lucy and David; and his sisters, Shirley Knapp (Gary Ryan) and Carol Humann (LeRoy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
After a bout with COVID-19, isolation, and other complications, Skip moved to St. Vincent's Care Center.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be sent to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery or a charity of the donor's choice.
