Randy was born December 9, 1958, in Bismarck, the eighth of ten children to Frank and Perpetua "Bella" (Resler) Ereth. Raised and educated in Mandan, Randy attended Mandan High School and then worked for Burlington Northern Railroad seismographing and painting. He married Francine Helbling in February of 1986 and they were blessed with two children. Randy began working at Dakota Drywall which led to a nearly 35-year career and he played an important role in the business. Unfortunately, medical issues forced Randy to retire early.
Randy was a very giving and selfless person and a dedicated father to Joe and Tabitha. His children were his priority and then when he became a Grandpa to Oaklee, she melted his heart and from the day she was born they were very close. Together they enjoyed going for drives in his car, playing soccer, going sledding, sitting around the fire in his backyard, fishing, watching videos/playing games on his phone, eating at the Chinese restaurant, going bike riding, and even playing Barbie's. Even during the times Randy had become severely ill, he could never say no to playing when she asked. Oaklee loved her time staying with grandpa and helping to care for him when he needed it or just sitting next to him and making him smile and laugh.
Randy enjoyed fishing off the shores of the Missouri River, playing horseshoes and darts, family camping trips with his siblings and their families where many great memories were made in his camper bus and he particularly loved Memorial and Labor Day camping weekends. Randy loved the Fourth of July as well as outdoor concerts, especially classic rock concerts in Bottineau.
Randy is survived by his children, Joe Ereth and Tabitha Ereth (Brian Holzer); granddaughter, Oaklee Mastel; sisters, Marion Neibauer, Linda Baron, Lorraine (Gordie) Gatzke, Carol (Tony) Meier, Darlene (Daryl) Schaf, and Bernice (Wayne) Schaf; brothers, Murray (Pearl) Ereth and Mark (Yvonne) Ereth; brother-in-law, Leigh Tveito; many nieces and nephews; and countless friends.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sheila Tveito.
