With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Michael Wetzstein Sr. of Mandan, North Dakota, who passed away on May 18, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Adam Wetzstein and Stella Wetzstein (Zwarych); his in-laws, Leonard and Caroline Schmautz; his siblings-in-law, Ken Augustin and Mary Kay Yager; and his pet Chumley.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Wetzstein; his children, Michael Wetzstein Jr. (Sarah Kadrmas) of Mandan, Chris Wetzstein of Mandan, Sarah Wetzstein-Paul (Jesse) of Mandan and Angela Miller (Justin); his grandchildren, Reese, Adam Wetzstein and Greyson Miller; his siblings, Ann Augustin of Baltimore, MA, Francis "Buck" Wetzstein (Sandy) of Mandan and Adam Steve "Duke" Wetzstein (Penny) of Mandan; and his pet Tug.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the ND Veterans Cemetery, or the Elk's charity Camp Grassick.
