He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel Stegmiller and Frances Stegmiller (Scholl); his brother Mike; his sister-in-law Lavonne Stegmiller; and his sister Peggy Morgen.
He is survived by: his wife Donna Stegmiller; his sons, Wes Stegmiller (Amy) and Scott Stegmiller (Janice) of Lake Stevens, WA; his stepsons, Scott Chertkow of Anchorage, AK, Dan Chertkow of Anchorage, AK and Kevin Chertkow of Decatur, MS; his siblings, Joyce Fleck (Ray), Elaine Riehl (Glenn Dittus), Alice Anderson (Marlo), Steve Stegmiller (Barb) of Mandan and Bob Stegmiller (Terri) of Mandan; and his brother-in-law Larry Morgen (Cindy Erickson) of Mandan. He is also survived by three grandchildren, and six step-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Weigel Funeral and Cremation Service (309 4th Ave NW, Mandan, ND 58554). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, November 12th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery (1825 46th St, Mandan, ND 58554).
The family asks for anyone wishing to give, donate to your local horticultural society, plant a tree or flowers, support the local hospice services, or, more importantly, thank a veteran for his service.
