He is survived by: his wife Inez Mertz; his sons, Steven (Andrea) of Mansfield, TX, Douglas of Bronson, FL and David (Roberta) of Newport News, VA; his grandchildren, April (Wes), Christopher (Kelli), Jack (Kallie), Tess, Nicole (Adam) and Ryan; his great grandchildren, Joshua (Frankie), Colin, Ethan, Tristan (Angie), Jayson, Lucy, Heidi, Jake, Brody, Anastasia, Frederick, Abraham and Edith; and his great great grandchild Everly.
