He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Helbling and Nettie Helbling (Silseth); his daughter Nicky Lyn; and his brother Dennis "Java" Helbling. He is survived by: his wife Tami Schwinkendorf; his son Josh Helbling (Molly); his grandchildren, Graham and Hattie; his siblings, Sharlene Grosgebauer (John), Danny Helbling, Arnetta Glum (Tim), Joyce Urlacher (Doug), Carla Miller (Gene), Mary Ellyn Muhlhauser (Jeff Trimble), DuWayne Helbling (Trish) and LeEtta Schafer (Cal); his in-laws, Glenn and Connie Schwinkendorf; his sister-in-law Teri Riedinger (Bob); his nieces, Jeri Lee Grosgebauer and Faith Corbin; his nephew Jason Grosgebauer; and his caregivers, Nancy and Amy. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
