He was predeceased by: his parents, Ted Hertz and Esther Hertz (Witt); his sister-in-law Helen Hertz; and his niece Heather Hertz Ryberg. He is survived by: his wife Debra Graf; his brothers, Donald (Leona), Robert (Judy) and Dale Hertz; and his brother-in-law Gerald Graf (Jill). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.

Dareld James Hertz, 73, died on July 2, 2020 after battling Alzheimer's Disease at the Baptist Health Care Center, Bismarck.
