He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Hatzenbuhler and Julia Hatzenbuhler (Scheetz); his daughter-in-law Karen Lundstrom; and his grandchildren, Jeremiah and Tara Hatzenbuhler.
He is survived by: his wife Helen; his children, Leonard, Dorothy (Dave Stegmiller), Arnold (Donna), Janice (Danny Grigsby), Tony (Kim) and Debby (Ryan Wisdom); his grandchildren, Jennifer (Jose), Dean (Dana), Brent (Melissa Lizakowski), Laura (Chris), Dewey (Crystal), Paula (Troy Kinn), Danelle (Matthew), Steven (Winnie), Chelsea (Forest Anderson), Chris (Daniela Orcutt), Cameron (Stephanie), Tyrel (Ashleigh), Jason (Monique) and Trevor (Danielle); and his great great grandchild Isaac. He is also survived by 29 great-grandchildren.
