Lyle Gudmestad Obituary

We are sad to announce that on January 7, 2021, at the age of 89, Lyle Gudmestad of Lisbon, North Dakota passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gudmestad and Carla Gudmestad (Andersen) of Litchville; his wife Faye Smith; his siblings, Lois Opdahl, Donald and Dean; his brother-in-law Gerald Opdahl; and his nephew Jeremy Gudmestad.

He is survived by: his former wife Janice Strand; his daughter Shelly Bruse (Dave) of Litchville, ND; his stepson Bob Smith (Michelle) of Lisbon, ND; his grandchildren, Tony Bruse (Kristen), Cody Bruse (Paula) and Leah Baukol (Tyler); his stepgrandchildren, Kristopher Smith (Brittney), MiKayla Smith (Joe Reinke) and Haisley Rienke; his great grandchildren, Kenley, Andrew Bruse, Landon and Caiden Bruse; his brother Neil Gudmestad (Arne) of Richville, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Gloria Gudmestad of Perham, MN and Diane Gudmestad of Jamestown, ND. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Celebrating the life of Lyle due to the COVID pandemic will take place in the spring.
