He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Rotenberger and Barbara Rotenberger (Wittman); and his wife Mavis Trana. He is survived by: his children, Deborah Hovel (John) of Alexandria, MN, Peggy Lukes (Joe) of Lisbon, ND and John Rotenberger (Sandy) of Lisbon, ND; his grandchildren, Dan Hovel (Julie), Jane Schlotfeld (Jeff), Blair Hovel (Lecia), Nikki Rasmusson (Zac), Ryan Lukes (Danielle), Derek Rotenberger (Destiny) and Haley Rotenberger (Kyle Moerke); his siblings, Frieda Hanson of Fort Worth, TX, Sarah Sutton of Waterloo, IA and Ted Rotenberger (Lois) of Henning, MN; and his sisters-in-law, Elaine Trana of Hoople, ND and Mary Rotenberger of Los Angeles, CA. He is also survived by fifteen great-Grandchildren; one great great grandchild.
