He was predeceased by: his parents, Wendelin Schneider and Ottillia Schneider (Haag); his wife Lillian Volk; his son Rick Schneider; and his siblings, Betty Bosch, Katie Bosch, Helen Holzer, Angeline Frison and Alvin Schneider.
He is survived by: his children, Mary Kilwein (Steve), Karen Olson (Bert) and John Schneider Jr. (Michelle); his siblings, Mary Grinsteiner and Mike Schneider (Johanna); and his grandchildren, Kent Welk (Gretchen), Eric Welk (Nikki), Tonya Anderson (Troy), Tanya Schneider, Marlon Reddog, Cloe Kilwein (Garrett), Tess Kilwein, Christian Kilwein, Johnny Mac Schneider and Samuel Schneider. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren.
