He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Bata and Julia Bata (Berger); his wife Betty; and his siblings, Margaret Breyer (Louie), Mary Bata, Frank "Bud" Bata (Bette) and Joseph Bata.
He is survived by: his children, Valerie Darling (Randy) of Langdon and Kevin Bata (Sue) of Langdon; his grandchildren, Janelle Askvig (Jason), Rachael Darling, Coy Bata, Will Bata and Mariah Bata; his great grandchildren, Westin and Gavin Askvig; and his sister-in-law Edna Bata. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
