He was predeceased by: his parents, William Anderson and Johanna Anderson (Knutson); his wife Muriel (McKinnon); his uncle Lawrence Knutson; his sister Anna; his brother-in-law Hans Olson; and his close friend Donna Davey.

He is survived by: his sons, Miles (Teresa) and David (Amanda) of Langdon; his grandchildren, Scott, Ross, Justin (Carlye) and Chelsea (John); and his great grandchildren, Aurora, Piper, Hunter, Luke, Kolton and Jameson.
