He is survived by: his spouse Kristine Bjorg Hilda Peterson of Milton, ND; his children, Cynthia Restad (Jerry) of Langdon, Rebecca Overby (Jeff) of Langdon, Jane Hart (David) of Langdon, Cindy and Becky; his grandchildren, Ryan Restad (Nicole), Chris Restad (Jenni), Aaron Restad (Kari), Katie Hoffarth (Cory), Josh Overby (Sarah), Justin Overby (Megan), Shannon Bjornstad (Travis), Austin Koehmstedt, Taylor Carstenson (Jake), McKenzie Hart and Madison Hart; his great grandchildren, Keaton, Carter, Lauren Restad, Gunner, Reagan Restad, Tycen, Alexa Restad, Hallie, Reid Overby, Jaxtin, Hazel Overby and Charlotte Jo Kristine Koehmstedt; his sisters, Cyrilla Kartes (Lawrence) of Langdon, Frances Walz of Robbinsdale, MN and Kay Duffy (Jim) of Seattle, WA; his sister-in-law Judi Koehmstedt; and also Carmel Catholic Church.
