She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Koehmstedt and Katherine Koehmstedt (Boesl); her husband Lawrence Kartes; her siblings, Frances Walz, Joyce, Joe (Kristine) and Carl; and her brother-in-law Richard Walz.
She is survived by: her sons, Daniel of Fargo and Joseph; her grandchildren, Charles, Nathaniel and Cameron (Paiton); her great grandchild Callahan (Cameron); her sister Kay Duffy (Jim); and her siblings-in-law, Judi Koehmstedt, Alice Kartes and Dennis Stewart. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
