She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Mayer and Alice Mayer (Sirek); her husband James T. Shirek; her son Randy; her son-in-law James Sommerfeld; and her siblings, Marcella, Alice, RoseAnn, Blanche, Otto, Stanley, Gus and George.
She is survived by: her children, Beverly Sommerfeld of Fargo, ND, James M. Shirek of Lankin, ND, Trish Wallace (Harley) and Anthony Shirek (Laura) of Rochester, MN; her daughter-in-law Joy Shirek of Minot, ND; her grandchildren, Rick Sommerfeld (Kelly), Dan Sommerfeld, Matt Sommerfeld (Amy), Phil Shirek (Kiley), Charlie Shirek (Alyssa), Angie Ortiz (Jossue), Julie Golding (Ed), Dylan Shirek and Alexa Erickson (Brennan); her great grandchildren, Miranda, Alyssa Sommerfeld, Enzo, Claire Ortiz, Declan, Tovah Shirek, Parker, Becca Shirek, Lucy, Sophie Golding, Quinn and Lily Erickson; her stepgrandchildren, Brian Wallace, Justin Wallace and Kelli Witt; her siblings, Jim Mayer of St. Paul, MN and Judy Larson (Gus) of Wasilla, AK; and her sisters-in-law, Marcy Oppegaard of Lakota and Connie Mayer of Mandan, ND. She is also survived by 5 step great-grandchildren.
