He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Gackle and Alice Gackle (Higdem); his brothers, Don and Robert; his wife Marilyn Bernice Gackle (Goehner); his granddaughter Shawna Gackle; and his great grandchild Mercedes Zenker.
He is survived by: his children, Fred Gackle (Linda), Dave Gackle (Carol), Mary Zenker (Gackle), Jon Gackle (Tonya) and Joel Zenker. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, and nephews.
Memorial donations may be directed to Hospice of the Red River Valley, Dakota Lions Sight and Health, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
